Tottenham forward Son Heung-Min is on his way to rejoin his team mates after leaving his home country on Thursday, according to the Korea Herald.

The South Korean newspaper report that the left winger has jetted off to London after international duty in order to be a part of their pre-season preparations, although he will have to demonstrate patience until he can resume full training again.

The 25-year-old suffered a broken arm while on international duty and has undergone surgery in the capital of his home country South Korea, Seoul.

This has ruled him out for up to 12 weeks, meaning that he will be missing from Tottenham’s opening match of the new Premier League season away at newly promoted Newcastle.

However, it is claimed that the player himself believes that he will be fit enough to take part in his country’s next World Cup qualifying match against Iran, which takes place on August 31.

Son established himself as a key part of the Tottenham squad last season, hitting home 21 goals and providing his team mates with 10 assists in 47 appearances across league and cup competitions.

A versatile player who can operate anywhere in attack, he stepped into the shoes of front man Harry Kane to lead the line for Spurs in 12 of their matches, after the English forward suffered an injury
