Dominic Solanke has completed a transfer to Liverpool after snubbing interest from Celtic, according to BBC Sport.

The Merseysiders announced on their official website that the centre-forward, 19, has moved to Anfield following the expiration of his contract with Chelsea at the end of June.

Solanke has put the finishing touches to the switch in time to join the Premier League giants for the start of their pre-season preparations.

BBC Sport report on their website that the fee will be settled by a tribunal and that Liverpool are expected to pay around £3million in compensation to the Premier League champions for their academy product.

It is said that Solanke was also tracked by Celtic as manager Brendan Rodgers tried to use his Chelsea links to push through a deal for a rising star of English football.

But the former Anfield boss was beaten to the punch by his old employers and the youngster will now attempt to make an impact at Liverpool.

“It feels amazing and everyone has made me feel welcome already,” Solanke said.

“Even just pulling on the training top, I was over the moon. Hopefully I can put on the shirt in the near future and make some history here.”

Solanke only made one senior appearance for Chelsea but he has demonstrated his potential with England’s age-group teams and during a successful loan spell in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Solanke spent the 2015-16 season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, scoring seven goals in 25 games.
