Paris Saint-Germain are attempting to hijack defender Dani Alves’ summer move to Manchester City, according to the Telegraph.

This follows up from the story in the Mirror which reported that the 34-year-old was set to undergo a medical at the Manchester club this week.

The defender became available on a free transfer this summer following his departure from Italian giants Juventus.

The newspaper claims that the French outfit are confident that they can reach an agreement with the Brazilian and secure his signature from under the nose of City boss Pep Guardiola.

The report claims that neither Alves nor his representatives have made it clear that they are contemplating any offer from the Ligue 1 side.

It is said that City are quite relaxed about the situation as the Brazilian has not indicated that he has changed his mind regarding a summer move to the Etihad Stadium.

The Telegraph reports that the full-back’s future should be resolved in the upcoming days.

The Manchester club had reportedly wanted to complete their summer transfer business before their pre-season tour to the US next week so there is not much time to resolve the situation.

Alves enjoyed an impressive campaign in Italy last season, scoring six goals and providing seven assists in all competitions.

The Brazilians contribution helped Juventus to clinch a sixth consecutive league title and they also reach the Champions League final for the second time in three seasons.
