Manchester United track Dendoncker

Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Anderlecht defensive midfielder Leander Dendoncker this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claims that the Manchester giants were impressed with the 22-year-old when the Belgian side faced them in the Europa League last season and have tracked him for the last six months.

United faced Anderlecht in the quarter-final stage of the competition where they came away with a 3-2 aggregate victory but the midfielder performed well in both matches, scoring the equaling goal in the first leg at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium.

The Belgian enforcer is not the only midfielder being linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer as the Independent recently reported that United had seen a bid just under £25million rejected by fellow Premier League side Tottenham.

Italian newspaper Gazetta dello Sport also recently claimed that the Manchester club were prepared to spend around £40million to snap up Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan.

United have already completed deals to bring defender Victor Lindelof and striker Romelu Lukaku to the club during the summer transfer window.

Dendoncker would be a welcome addition to Old Trafford as he demonstrated that he could supply goals from midfield last season, notching up six strikes in all competitions.

The Belgian’s contribution helped Anderlecht their first league title since 2014.

The midfielder currently has four years remaining on his contract with Anderlecht.
