Manchester City are preparing to make a double swoop for Red Star Belgrade siblings Luka and Ivan Ilic, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

The newspaper has revealed on their website that Pep Guardiola is closing in on a deal for the highly-rated Serbian teenagers Luka, 18, and Ivan, 16.

The Daily Mail report that the deal for the Belgrade duo is currently in the advanced stages and Man City is confident in completing the transfers by the end of the week.

It is said that the siblings will be loaned back to the Serbian outfit for the following two seasons after moving to the Etihad.

Pep Guardiola will continue to watch the duo’s progression and development before they move to the Premier League on a permanent basis.

Luka is a defensive midfielder and made his senior debut with Red Star Belgrade during the club’s 3-3 draw in the Europa League Qualification round against Floriana at the beginning of the month.

The 18-year-old has also played with the Serbia Under 18 squad, while his attacking midfielder brother plays in Serbia’s Under 17 team.

Ivan made his Belgrade debut in April against Spartak in the club’s 2-1 SuperLiga victory back in April.

Guardiola looks to be creating long-term solutions for Man City by recruiting young stars as the former Barcelona boss recently signed 19-year-old Brazilian Douglas Luiz.
