Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to bid Nolito farewell after he joined Sevilla.

The 30-year-old forward has penned a three-year contract with the Spanish club, and he will link up with the rest of the squad at their pre-season training camp in Japan immediately.

The Citizens announced Nolito’s departure on their official website and official Twitter account, and the La Liga outfit confirmed the signing shortly after on their own website and Twitter account.

Nolito never appeared to settle at the Etihad during his one-year spell at the club, and he failed to reach the heights he did at Celta Vigo or Benfica.

He was used sparingly by City manager Pep Guardiola, and he scored just six goals in 30 appearances across all competitions.

The Etihad faithful were largely positive as they bid Nolito farewell, but a small section of the fans did criticise him for his poor performances at the club, and one supporter even called him one of their “worst signings ever”.

The 30-year-old joins a new-look squad at Sevilla, as he becomes the club’s fifth signing of the summer, as Ever Banega, Guido Pizarro, Luis Muriel and Sebastien Corchia have all already arrived.
