Dani Alves will attend a Manchester City medical at the beginning of next week before finalising a transfer from Juventus, according to a report in The Mirror.

The newspaper has revealed that the terms of the 34-year-old’s deal have been agreed, and that after his medical has been completed he will sign a contract to be reunited with former boss Pep Guardiola.

The Mirror claim that Alves will be signing a two-year-deal on a free transfer in the coming week.

It is said that the deal has already been agreed, but Guardiola allowed the right-back to go on holiday and also attend Lionel Messi’s wedding in South America last week before taking part in his medical.

The report has stated that now the Brazilian’s holiday is over, the former Barcelona defender will begin pre-season training with the rest of the City squad, providing his medical is successful next week.

It is expected that Alves will then join Pep Guardiola’s squad on their pre-season tour of the United States in the International Champions Cup.

Alves previously worked under Guardiola at the Nou Camp, and continued to impress during his one-year-deal at Juventus, after he joined the Serie A outfit last summer.

Throughout the season with the Italian club the right-back made 33 appearances, where he scored six goals and provided seven assists before he left as a free agent at the end of the season.

If the deal is finalised next week, the Brazil international will be the City boss’ third signing of the transfer window, after he managed to secure Benfica’s Ederson, and Monaco’s Bernardo Silva.
