Arsenal will demand a mega-money fee of £80million for their star winger Alexis Sanchez, according to a report in the Mirror.

The newspaper has revealed that Arsene Wenger is willing to sell the 28-year-old, but the Gunners boss has set a high price for the striker.

The Mirror claim that Wenger has increased Sanchez’ price tag as Manchester City are preparing their first official bid for the Chile international.

It is said that City boss Pep Guardiola will finally table their first opening offer of £50 million for Sanchez, but Wenger will want another £30 million for the bid to be considered.

This report follows a story in the Manchester Evening News last month which revealed that Sanchez was Guardiola’s top target this summer, and that he was prepared to offer £50 million for the star.

The Mirror states that Sanchez, according to sources close to the Chilean, is keen to make a swift exit from the Emirates.

The 28-year-old joined the Gunners from Barcelona in 2014 for a fee just over £36 million, and since moving to the Emirates he has made a total of 144 appearances, scored 72 goals and provided 42 assists across all competitions.

The Chile international has just one year left on his contract with the north London club and Wenger could risk losing him for free next summer.

If Sanchez was to reunited with former Barcelona boss Guardiola, he would be the Spaniard’s third signing of the summer transfer window and join new arrivals Ederson and Bernardo Silva.
