Andre Wisdom has quit Liverpool to sign for Derby County, it was announced on Monday.

The Championship club announced on their official website and social media channels they they have wrapped up the transfer of the 24-year-old after he completed a medical.

Derby revealed that Wisdom had penned a four-year contract that runs until the summer of 2021 after agreeing personal terms before he went on holiday.

The fee paid by Derby for the long-serving Liverpool player was undisclosed but the Derby Telegraph have claimed it is an initial £2million rising to a potential £4.5million.

Wisdom, who can play as a centre-back but is principally a right-back, has spent his entire career up to now at the Merseyside giants after joining the academy from Bradford at the age of 14.

The Leeds-born youngster made his first-team debut in September 2012 when Brendan Rodgers was manager but made only 22 first-team appearances over five years.

He spent a lot of time out on loan through spells at Derby, West Brom, Norwich and Red Bull Salzburg, where he played 25 matches in all competitions last season.

The 10-times former England Under-21 international had an impressive spell at Pride Park in 2013-14 when he made 38 appearances across all competitions and supplied three assists.

In total, he has made 122 club appearances.
