Everton have been faster off the transfer blocks than any other Premier League clubs in the summer during what has been a whirlwind of activity.

But, remarkably, there are fresh reports that the blitz of new signings is merely a taste of what is to come for supporters who are pinching themselves at the most extensive and expensive attempts to strengthen the club’s squad in their entire history.

With two more signings announced on Monday, the Merseysiders already have six new players in the bag even though the window did not officially open until Saturday.

The first two through the door were goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and playmaker Davy Klaassen, who joined for £30million and £24million from Sunderland and Ajax respectively.

Young defender Nathangelo Markelo followed from Dutch outfit FC Volendam before winger Henry Onyekuru was signed for £6.8million last Friday before being loaned to Anderlecht for next season.

Further proof of Everton’s ambitions under majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri came today (Monday) with the signings of striker Sandro Ramirez from Malaga and and Michael Keane from Burnley to take the club’s expenditure up to £97million.

Manager Ronald Koeman is laying the foundations of a team that can challenge with the very best in the years ahead and Everton have been working hard on signing players with the pedigree to make a big impact in the Premier League next season.

Indeed, it has been reported by the Mail that the club are working on a remarkable six more deals as the recruitment drive goes to the next level.
