Everton legend Graeme Sharp has revealed he is excited by the prospect of seeing Sandro Ramirez in action for his former club next season.

Sandro, 22, became the Toffees’ fourth major signing of the summer when arrived from Malaga and put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal earlier this month.

The young striker followed Davy Klaassen, Henry Onyekuru and Jordan Pickford to Goodison Park, and he has since been joined on Merseyside by Michael Keane and Wayne Rooney.

Sandro was also linked with Atletico Madrid as well as a host of other clubs before he joined Everton, and in an interview with the club’s official website Sharp admitted he has been impressed with him.

“It is an exciting one for me. I’m looking forward to seeing him up close and hopefully he can do the business.

“His goal scoring record for someone so young is impressive. You have also got his pedigree, having come through at Barcelona. The boy has talent. A big asset is his age as well, so it looks a really good signing.”

The 22-year-old was one of Malaga’s top performers last season, netting 16 goals in 31 league and cup games, as well as providing five assists.

The 2016-17 campaign was the Spaniard’s one and only season at Malaga, as he joined them from Barcelona last summer on a free transfer.

Sandro is primarily a central striker, but he was also utilised by Malaga manager Michel on both the right-wing and the left-wing last season.

He has been capped by Spain Under-21s on seven occasions, and he featured four times in the side’s European Under-21s Championships campaign, which saw them lose in the final.
