Robbie Fowler has heaped huge praise on Everton for their current business in the summer transfer window and claimed that they have made other clubs in the league “look a bit stupid”.

The Toffees have been very active in the transfer market so far, completing the signings of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, midfielder Davy Klaassen and forward Henry Onyekuru.

There are reports that more arrivals are expected at Goodison Park with the Daily Mail claiming that Burnley defender Michael Keane and Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez are set to complete moves to Merseyside next week.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Fowler was quick to praise the Everton hierarchy for acting so quickly in the summer but refused to admit that his former side Liverpool had failed in the current window.

“I wouldn’t presume to suggest that Liverpool have, in any way, failed in the transfer market because it is a long summer and you have to wait for the window to close to get a full picture,” he said.

“But I have to hand it to Bill Kenwright and his team at Everton.

“They have stolen a march on the rest of the Premier League clubs and even made them look a bit stupid.”

Manager Ronald Koeman enjoyed an impressive debut campaign with the Merseyside club last season as he steered them to a seventh-placed finish, guaranteeing Europa League football for the first time in three years.

Everton will be looking to challenge for a place in the Champions League in the upcoming campaign as they finished 15 points adrift of the top four places last season.

The Toffees welcome Stoke City to Goodison Park on the opening day of the new Premier League season in August.
