Hull manager Leonid Slutsky has confirmed that he is eyeing up a loan deal for an Everton player.

The Hull Daily Mail reports that the Toffees have been in advanced talks with the Tigers over a season-long loan switch for Matthew Pennington, while Liverpool attacker Ryan Kent is also said to be part of Andrew Robertson’s proposed move to Anfield.

Slutsky has found his first transfer window in English football very tough, having sold key players like Curtis Davies and Tom Huddlestone with Chelsea’s Ola Aina loan switch the only success the Tigers have had.

When asked about Kent, Slutsky was quoted by the Hull Daily Mail as confirming his interest in a number of top-flight players: “We have four more loan options and a player from Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton, clubs like that, of course they’re interesting for us.”

Pennington, a former England Under-19 international, has only ever made nine appearances for the Everton senior team since breaking through their academy.

The 22-year-old got a chance to impress Ronald Koeman last season when he was called up to first-team matters following an injury crisis and scored his first Toffees goal in a 3-1 Merseyside derby loss to Liverpool in April.

The defender has previously been sent out on loan to Tranmere, Coventry and most recently Walsall, when he made five appearances in the second half of the 2015/16 season.

The Sunday Mirror has previously reported that Leeds are also in the hunt for the Everton centre-back.
