Chelsea are sweating over the future of manager Antonio Conte after talks over a contract extension stalled, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claim on their website that the Italian coach has is yet to sign a new deal as he was expected to come the end of the season, and that the latest round of discussions have failed to reach a conclusion.

They report that there is a £9.6million-a-year, or approximately £185,000-a-week, offer on the table for the 47-year-old, but the parties have failed to agree on elements such as the length of the contract.

It is also stated that Conte is growing increasingly frustrated at the club’s failings in the transfer market, having missed out on reported top targets striker Romelu Lukaku and defender Leonardo Bonucci.

Conte joined the Blues last summer after leaving his role as manager of the Italian national side, and began his time at the club with a 2-1 victory over West Ham in the Premier League.

His approach of utilising three players at the heart of the defence worked wonders for the players at the club, as it brought out the best of Victor Moses and Marcus Alonso in the wing-back roles, while Cesar Azpilicueta flourished as a central defender.

His team stormed to the Premier League title, breaking the record for most victories in a season with 30, losing just five games and finishing on 93 points, seven points ahead of Tottenham in second.
