Chelsea have confirmed that promising right-back Ola Aina has joined Championship side Hull on a season-long loan deal.

The Blues confirmed the news on their official Twitter account as well as their official website, with the move being the defender’s first move away from the club in his career:

His signing is Hull manager Leonid Slutsky’s first arrival at the Tigers, after joining the club following the departure of former boss Marco Silva.

He will be hoping to lead the Yorkshire based side to an immediate return to the Premier League, having suffered relegation alongside north east clubs Middlesbrough and Sunderland.

He has managed to bring Aina in to help his efforts, while Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will be hoping that the first team action aids the development of a player the Chelsea website call “highly rated”.

A London man born and bred, Aina, who is renowned for his jet-heeled forward raids, has come through the youth squads at Chelsea and has already earned a taste of first team football for the Blues.

He has six senior appearances to his name, his debut coming in a 3-2 win over League One side Bristol Rovers in the League Cup back at the start of the 2016/17 campaign.

He also has international experience for the England youth sides, appearing for every squad up to the Under-21s, where he has made two appearances on the bench.
