Steve Bruce should look to raid his former side Hull City to boost Aston Villa’s promotion hunt next season, as they aim to return to the Premier League at the second attempt.
Villa finished in a disappointing 13th place in the Championship last time around, as Roberto Di Matteo and Bruce both failed to provide their side with the consistency needed to finish in top six of England’s second tier.
However, Bruce will be looking to change that this time around and could lure three of his former players at the KCOM Stadium to join his Villa side as the veteran manager looks to secure his fifth career promotion.
Bruce enjoyed promotion with the Tigers twice, firstly gaining promotion in his first season via as runner-up in 2012-13 before repeating the feat in 2015-16 through the play-offs.
