Following the success of securing striker Alexandre Lacazette last week, boss Arsene Wenger looks to have gained the confidence to kickstart a busy transfer window.

Once the 26-year-old was bagged, Wenger turned his attention to fellow Frenchman Thomas Lemar and is reportedly ready to make his third bid for the 21-year-old winger.

According to a recent report the Mirror, the Gunners boss is preparing a bid near to £45 million after the club’s first two bids of £30 million and £40 million were rejected.

However, Wenger is looking in the wrong place and must turn his attention to the squad’s defence if his team are to contend for the Premier League title next season and win back their Champions League spot.

The French manager should look to bolster his backline rather than secure more strikers, as the Arsenal defence currently looks like it’s heading towards crisis.
