Chelsea fell to a 3-2 defeat against Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup on Tuesday and there were many things for manager Antonio Conte to take away from the game.

The Blues continued their pre-season preparations by naming a strong starting XI against German champions Bayern, but found themselves 3-0 down after just half an hour to rampant opposition.

Rafinha opened the scoring with a 25-yard low driving effort, before attacker Thomas Muller then fired a quick brace to put them firmly in the driving seat.

The Londoners did cut the deficit through Marcos Alonso just before half-time and Michy Batshuayi netted late on to set up a tense finish.

There was a notable debut for the club’s new striker Alvaro Morata and he got a substitute role in the second-half to give Chelsea fans a glimpse of his talents.

Conte’s side will now have a short break before their next game against Italian side Inter Milan as they work towards the start of the Premier League season.
