Conte ‘livid’ over Lukaku debacle

|

Antonio Conte has demanded a meeting with the chiefs at Chelsea to discuss their failure to secure the signing of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, according to the Sunday Express.

The newspaper report on their website that the Italian manager was “livid” following the news that Manchester United had managed to hijack their move for the Belgian striker, with the 24-year-old set to head to Old Trafford in a £75million deal.

As a result, it is claimed that he will return to Chelsea tomorrow (Monday) and demand to sit down with those above him at the club in order to voice his frustrations.

There is said to be a a new contract on the table for Conte, with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wanting to tie the Italian down to the club after he brought them Premier League success in his debut season in England’s top flight.

However he is yet to sign as he has become unhappy at the club’s failure to secure the signings he desires, although he is set to see Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger through the door at Stamford Bridge, with the duo both set to have medicals over the coming days.

They will become the second and third signings at the club after they managed to secure the signature of former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero on a free transfer after his contract expired.
