What a few weeks it has been for Leeds United fans – and it is set to get even better in the coming days.

Manager Thomas Christiansen has sent the United fanbase into meltdown with his comments that new arrivals will follow headline summer signing Vurnon Anita in the next 48 hours.

Asked how close Leeds were to bringing in other new recruits to add to Anita and the other five permanent summer signings who had already been in place, the new manager told Sky Sports: “I don’t like to say that, probably Victor (Orta, director of football) will say more. But for sure in the next few days we will announce a few players.”

So, who are the new signings that will link up with goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald, midfield pair Madger Gomes and Mateusz Klich and 2016-17 mainstays Pontus Jansson and Hadi Sacko, who have converted their loans into permanent transfers?

It is reported in the Yorkshire Evening Post that three new players could be on their way, as Christiansen and Orta try to solve some of the weaknesses in the squad that finished seventh in the Championship last season.

This Is Futbol analyses the trio, who include two attacking players and one who has represented a south American country 45 times:
