Central defender Willy Boly has completed a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, it has been announced.

The 26-year-old has joined the Championship side from Portuguese outfit FC Porto on a season-long loan deal after jetting in from overseas to finalise terms.

The Midlands club confirmed the news on their official website and their official Twitter account on Saturday morning.

The defender becomes the second player from Porto to move to Wolves after Portuguese sensation Ruben Neves completed a permanent deal to Molineux on the same day.

The Frenchman is set to experience playing in England for the first time in his footballing career.

New Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is fully aware of the defender’s capabilities on the pitch as he was the one who signed him to Porto last season.

Boly was not able to become a first-team starter during his debut campaign with the Portuguese club as he only managed to feature in eight matches in all competitions.

The centre-back has made a total of 142 appearances in his career, notching up six goals and providing two assists in the process.

Wolves will be hopeful that Boly can help them achieve more clean sheets as they conceded 58 goals in the Championship last season.

The central defender could make his club debut against Middlesborough at Molineux on the opening day of the league season in August.
