With a new manager in place, Leeds United are now working intently on refurbishing a squad that fell narrowly short under Garry Monk last season.

Recently appointed director of football Victor Orta made it clear during the unveiling of Thomas Christiansen on Monday that new signings are set to arrive in the coming weeks.

However, the recruitment chief made it clear that he is operating within a budget as he aimed to ensure that fans’ expectations do not spiral out of control after Andrea Radrizzani took full control of the club during the off-season.

Following Monday’s press conference, Leeds have been strongly linked with two players in the foreign media who would appear to be affordable and have the pedigree to make a big impact in the Championship next season.

Indeed, it is reported that both deals are advanced to the point where Christiansen will have growing hope they will be in place before the squad’s pre-season campaign gets into full swing and can be brought up to speed in time for the start of the 2017-18 campaign.
