Everton’s move for Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman is hanging in the balance, according to GhanaSoccerNet.

The news site details that the 22-year-old’s injury problems are causing issues after the Toffees asked the Blues to sign the young Ghanaian.

The youngster spent the last campaign on loan from Chelsea with Bundesliga outfit Schalke, but he only managed 21 appearances in total for the club with a knee injury keeping him sidelined from January.

It is now understood that Rahman has been given an extended date for his recovery and this is said to have left a deal with Everton on the brink of collapse.

The full-back only completed a move to Chelsea in the summer of 2015 for a fee reported to be an initial £14million with a further £8million in add-ons from German club FC Augsburg.

He has gone on to feature 23 times in total for the Blues’ first team and it is said that the London club are keen to see how he returns as they still believe he has potential to become a success in England.

Everton, meanwhile could be on the search for a new left-back this summer with veteran Leighton Baines and youngster Brendan Galloway the only two recognised in Ronald Koeman’s squad.
