English Championship trio Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol City and Reading are eyeing Celtic defender Saidy Janko, according to HITC Sport.

The news publication details that the three clubs are all targeting the Hoops 21-year-old who spent the previous campaign on loan in England’s second tier with Barnsley.

It is detailed that the clubs are monitoring Janko’s situation at the Glasgow giants with his first team chances looking to be limited next season with both Mikael Lustig and Cristian Gamboa ahead of him in the right-back pecking order.

It is also stated that Janko himself could be tempted with a move away from Celtic this summer in an attempt to find more first team opportunities.

The attacking full-back played in seven matches for the Hoops under Brendan Rodgers last season before moving to Barnsley during the summer’s transfer deadline day.

He then went on to play in 14 matches for the Tykes, returning one goal and one assist as he struggled to nail down a place in Paul Heckingbottom’s team.

Janko has been at Celtic for two years now after completing a move from Manchester United in the summer of 2015.

He has only played 19 times for the club in total and still has two years remaining on his contract at the Hoops.
