Benfica winger Daniel Candeias has arrived in Glasgow to put the finishing touches on his move to Rangers, according to the Evening Times.

The newspaper claim that the 29-year-old flew to Scotland on Thursday night to finalise a transfer, as Rangers look to make him their fifth signing of the summer by Pedro Caixinha.

Candeias had previously played under Caixinha at Portuguese outfit Nacional, and the Rangers manager is open to a possible reunion as he seeks to ring the changes to the first-team squad at Ibrox.

The Rangers manager has been working around the clock to ensure the bulk of his transfer business is completed well-ahead of the start of their Europa League campaign, whichbegins at the end of June.

His first-team squad have already returned to training at Auchenhowie, but he will also want his new signings integrated in good-time before the 2017-18 season kicks-off.

The Scottish Sun, meanwhile, report that Candeias is in Glasgow to complete a medical and to discuss personal terms, ahead of a £750,000 transfer.

Candeias, who has been capped through to Under 23 level by the Portugal national team, joined Benfica in 2014, but has yet to make a single first-team appearance for the club.

He has since spent time on loan in four different leagues, including a season-long loan spell at Turkish outfit Alanyaspor last term.

The winger, who can play on either side of midfield, contributed four goals and four assists from 30 appearances in all competitions last season.

He could be set to join fellow Portuguese stars Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso and Dalcio at the club, with Rangers having also added Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack to their ranks this summer.
