Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has told Harry Forrester that there is little point in him returning to training with the club, according to a Daily Record report.

The newspaper claims the Portuguese boss told Forrester to leave moments after a training session on Sunday, and banished him from Auchenhowie for the next two weeks.

It is said Caixinha also advised the 26-year-old wide-midfielder to use his two weeks off to find a new club.

Forrester has previously been on the end of disciplinary treatment from his manager, as a month ago he and Michael O’Halloran were ordered to undertake an early-morning training session prior to the Gers’ match against Partick Thistle.

The report also states Forrester was sent home by Caixinha on a separate occasion, after he was unimpressed with the player’s attitude in training.

The 26-year-old failed to make much of an impact for the Glasgow giants in the 2016-17 campaign, and he only made 28 appearances in all competitions and scored three goals.

He arrived at Ibrox in January 2016 in a switch from Doncaster Rovers, and he has since played 44 league and cup games, which have yielded eight goals and three assists.

Caixinha is looking to overhaul his squad this summer and he has already made five additions – despite the fact Forrester is under contract until 2019, the manager now seems determined that his time at Ibrox has come to an end.
