West Ham manager Slaven Bilic will grant permission for defender Reece Burke to complete a loan move to Bolton for the season, according to the Mirror.

The news website have detailed on their transfer blog (1.15pm) that the 20-year-old is set to join the Championship club, led by manager Phil Parkinson, who he has previously worked with at Bradford.

It is claimed that the young centre-back has been earmarked to have a bright future for the east London side and a number of second tier teams were interested in picking him up temporarily this summer.

However, Burke has made the decision to join a manager he knows well following a disappointing last campaign on loan at Wigan where he played just 10 times.

The youngster has had a contrasting career so far having already playing 12 times for the West Ham first team, while also being named the Bradford player of the year in the 2015-16 campaign.

But, last year would have put a halt on his development and he will now be keen to kick back on with the intentions of breaking into the West Ham team on a consistent basis in the future.

The Hammers, meanwhile are without European football and already have Winston Reid, Jose Fonte, Angelo Ogbonna and James Collins in their centre-back ranks, leaving Burke with little opportunity to break into the first team.
