Aston Villa are eyeing a double swoop for Blackpool’s Bright Osayi-Samuel and Exeter’s Ollie Watkins, according to a Birmingham Mail report.

The newspaper claims the Birmingham giants have “been keeping tabs” on the talented duo, and “will have” sent scouts to assess them in the League Two play-off final on Sunday.

Osayi-Samuel’s Blackpool came out on top at Wembley, beating Watkins’ Exeter 2-1 to win promotion to League One.

It is said manager Steve Bruce is keeping an eye out for youngsters to join his squad and he could make moves for both players this summer.

Osayi-Samuel, 19, was a mainstay in Blackpool’s midfield this term, making 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals.

The Nigerian winger broke into the first team set-up at Bloomfield Road in January 2015, and he has since played more than 70 league and cup games for the club.

His contract is set to run out this summer, but he does have the option to extend it by one year.

Meanwhile, Watkins, led the line for Exeter this season, scoring 16 goals and providing 13 assists in 52 appearances in all competitions.

The 21-year-old, whose contract runs out at the end of this month, has played 78 league and cup games for his club since breaking into the senior squad in 2014, scoring 26 goals.

This comes after Get West London reported QPR were set to rival Leeds and Bristol City in the race to sign Watkins.
