Huddersfield Town have appointed Celtic’s David Moss as their new Head of Football Operations, it has been confirmed.

The Premier League newcomers announced the arrival of the 48-year-old on their official Twitter account on Thursday morning, with Moss holding previous top flight experience.

Moss previously spent three years as Academy Manager at Premier League rivals Swansea, before embarking on a new two-year chapter in the same role at Crystal Palace.

He later moved to Scottish giants Celtic, where he held the role of Head of Development Scouting, but he has now moved to fill a position at Huddersfield vacated by the Norwich-bound Stuart Webber.

Webber was placed on gardening leave by the club at the end of March after he declared his interest to leave the club, and was appointed as Sporting Director at Norwich at the start of April.

Huddersfield have swiftly moved to freshen up their management structure following their promotion to the Premier League, a dream which only became reality on Monday, and Moss becomes the first fresh face arriving at the John Smith’s Stadium this summer.

The experienced chief will work closely alongside first-team head coach David Wagner and the club’s Board of Directors over the coming months, as preparation for their debut Premier League campaign begins to take full flight.

Moss also enjoyed spells with Swansea, Scunthorpe United and Partick Thistle during his 11-year professional career as a player.
