OPINION

Thomas Christiansen should abandon  reported plans to bring Huesca forward Samu Saiz to Leeds this summer and sign three other Segunda Division attackers.

Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo claim that Leeds are interested in the 26-year-old, with director of football Victor Orta said to have identified Saiz as the man to inspire a promotion push at Elland Road next season.

Saiz, 26, scored 12 goals and laid on a further eight assists in 40 appearances in Spain’s second tier which saw Huesca finish sixth and in the play-offs with the chance to gain promotion to La Liga.

However, Huesca were beaten in the play-offs and now Saiz could be on the lookout for a move away with only 12 months remaining on his current contract.

But This Is Futbol believes signing Saiz would be a waste of money and that the Yorkshire giants would be better off signing three other Segunda Division goalscorers.
