Three reasons why Leeds should sign Olsen

Leeds should abandon reported plans to sign Felix Wiedwald and bring Pontus Jansson’s ‘brother’ Robin Olsen to Elland Road instead.

The Mail claim Leeds have tabled a six-figure bid for Werder Bremen stopper Wiedwald as they look to continue their summer spending spree under newly-appointed manager Thomas Christiansen.

It is believed that the Yorkshire giants have bid £400,000 for a player that has been a regular for Bundesliga outfit Bremen in the last two seasons, after making 59 top-flight appearances for his side during that time.

Jansson, 26, got married earlier this week with FC Copenhagen stopper Olsen in attendance and the defender posted a picture on his personal Instagram account of the duo, describing his former Malmo goalkeeper as a “brother”.

Leeds have already completed two signings this summer in 10-time Poland international Mateusz Klich and a permanent deal for Hadi Sacko from Sporting Lisbon.

This Is Futbol believes Leeds should forget about signing Wiedwald and instead bring Jansson’s close friend and Sweden teammate Olsen to Yorkshire instead for three separate reasons ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
