Thomas Christiansen must consider giving Giuseppe Bellusci a second chance at Leeds and help the Italian improve his relationship with the Elland Road faithful.

Italian publication Tutto Mercato Web claim Cagliari want to offer the 27-year-old an instant return to Italy’s top flight, after allowing Portugal international Bruno Alves to join Scottish giants Rangers.

Former Catania defender Bellusci is likely to leave the club this summer with fans desperate to see the back of the four-time Italy Under-21 international, after becoming renowned for being reckless at the back in the white of Leeds.

Incoming manager Christiansen has already made his first signing at Elland Road in former FC Twente midfielder Mateusz Klich for a fee of £1.5million, who is expected to feature regularly in the middle of the park next season.

This Is Futbol believes Christiansen needs to make a decision on the future of Bellusci and considers three reasons why keeping him in Yorkshire could be key in going one better and achieving promotion next season.
