A French journalist has reported that Manchester City centre-back Eliaquim Mangala has arrived in Lyon to put the finishing touches to a loan transfer.

French journalist for This is Goal, Maxime Horbez, revealed on his official Twitter account on Tuesday that the 26-year-old’s deal with Lyon could be finalised later on Tuesday.

This is Goal also claimed that the French international had arrived at Lyon’s training ground to discuss personal terms.

The journalist tweeted the information with a picture of the 26-year-old, who was spotted by a fan in Lyon.

The picture and meeting would suggest that Mangala would be heading to the Ligue 1 outfit for a loan spell away from the Etihad, where he is yet to feature under Pep Guardiola.

The City manager is reportedly set to completely transform the squad during the summer window and has already signed winger Bernardo Silva for £42million from Monaco and goalkeeper Ederson for £35million from Benfica.

Mangala jointed City back in 2014 for nearly £42 million from FC Porto, and has since been loaned out to La Liga side Valencia last season.

During his loan over the 2016/17 campaign, the centre-back proved his worth by making 30 La Liga appearances, where he also netted two goals.
