Tottenham and Arsenal have been joined by Liverpool in the hunt for Monaco starlet Thomas Lemar, according to TF1 programme Telefoot.

Both North London sides had been reported to have shown interest in the 21-year-old winger, with the Mirror claiming that he was one of three French internationals being pursued by Arsene Wenger this summer.

French football publication L’Equipe claimed that Spurs were looking to continue their policy of purchasing young talent with a move for Lemar, which led to Mauricio Pochettino’s side being named as odds on favourites to secure his signature by Sky Bet on June 14.

However, Telefoot report that both clubs now face a fight for the versatile winger from Premier League rivals Liverpool, as well as Champions League runners up Juventus.

The five-time-capped French international enjoyed a hugely profitable season during the last campaign, as he hit 14 goals and contributed a club high of 17 assists in 55 games across all competitions as Monaco secured the Ligue 1 title and reached the semi-final stage of the Champions League.

His impressive form led to an international call-up, making his debut for France as a 78th minute substitute in a 0-0 friendly draw with the Ivory Coast back in November.

Lemar’s quality and future potential mean that Monaco are unlikely to want to see him depart this transfer window, especially after they sold fellow winger Bernardo Silva to Manchester City for £43million earlier in the summer.
