Injured Rangers trio Jordan Rossiter, Niki Kranjcar, and captain Lee Wallace have returned to training this week as the club begin preparations for the new season.

All three members of the squad were pictured training in the Daily Record on Monday after missing a fair chunk of 2016-17 due to injury.

Rangers captain Wallace had his season cut short following surgery on his stomach which meant he missed Rangers’ last eight matches, but the skipper was pictured up and running in the session at Auchenhowie.

A surprising face alongside the captain was Niko Kranjcar, who has been out of action from the Ibrox since October 2016.

The Croatian only spent a few months playing for the club before he suffered a nasty ligament rupture, but from Monday’s photos he looks as though he’s progressing with his rehabilitation.

Team mate Rossiter also took to the training field after five lengthy months on the sidelines owing to a niggling back injury after he only managed six appearances in the Rangers midfield before he sustained his injury.

Training will continue ready for the club’s return to European competitions later on in the month, and it looks hopeful from the pictures that the club’s skipper, alongside Rossiter and Kranjcar, will be making a comeback ready for the domestic 2017/18 season.
