Charlton manager Karl Robinson has revealed that “no approach” has been made for Rangers attacker Harry Forrester.

The League One boss did admit he spoke to the Scottish Premiership side during the January transfer window but no fresh approach has been made for the 26-year-old this summer.

Forrester’s time at Ibrox is seemingly coming to an end after his manager Pedro Caixinha reportedly told him to stay away from the club’s training ground and find a new club.

The Gers have returned to pre-season early as they prepare for next month’s Europa League qualifiers and the forthcoming Scottish Championship campaign.

It means former Aston Villa man Forrester is unlikely to be part of Caixinha’s plans and League One manager Robinson has offered his thoughts on the Rangers outcast.

“I know Harry and I had his brother Remy [at Milton Keynes] for a period of time,” said Robinson, as quoted by the London News Online. “We spoke to Glasgow Rangers in January about it but that was in January. We’ve not made any contact this window.”

This follows a report from HITC Sport that said Charlton were interested in the Ranger 26-year-old.

Versatile attacker Forrester moved to Glasgow last summer when then-Gers boss Mark Warburton brought him to the club from League One side Doncaster Rovers.

He featured on a number of occasions under Warburton, but since the Englishman resigned from his post in February he has only had seven minutes of action in the Scottish Premiership.

Forrester, who came through the ranks at Aston Villa as a youngster, has valuable experience in the third tier of English football.

He has played 102 matches in England’s lower leagues, scoring 16 goals and supplying 12 assists for the likes of Doncaster and Brentford.
