Brendan Rodgers should forget about luring Srdjan Plavsic to Celtic this summer but still use the Serbian SuperLiga as a scouting pool to bolster his options out wide.

The Daily Mail claims Celtic are running fresh checks on the 21-year-old who has caught the eye of Celtic’s scouting team this season, after scoring eight goals from out wide.

It is believed that the two-time Serbia international would only require a fee of £1.5million, with 12 months currently remaining on his contract with Red Star Belgrade.

The Hoops have already brought in winger Jonny Hayes from Aberdeen this summer, but after losing Patrick Roberts who returned to parent club Man City, additions out wide are likely to be needed ahead of a Champions League campaign.

This Is Futbol believes there are better options in the top flight of Serbian football to bolster Rodgers’ flanks that are still well within the grasp of the former Liverpool manager.
