Alfie Mawson
Swansea defender Mawson has shone at the back for the Welsh outfit, after being signed last summer after moving to the Liberty Stadium from Championship side Barnsley.
The 23-year-old impressed with his aerial prowess and maturity at the back as a key member of Paul Clement’s side that avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth.
As well as scoring four goals from centre-back, Mawson proved to be one of the Premier League signings of the season and Rodgers would be well-advised to sign the two-time England Under-21 international instead of Gomez.
