Experienced Celtic full-back Mikael Lustig has named new recruit Jonny Hayes as the hardest winger he’s played against.

The 29-year-old right-winger has built up a fine reputation for himself in Scotland after joining Aberdeen in 2012 with 30 goals and 71 assists in 207 matches in all competitions.

He has often tormented Premiership defences and of those include’s Celtic’s who have established their dominance over the rest of Scotland.

Lustig himself has first hand experience of coming up against the Irishman on the pitch and during a question and answer session on the official Celtic Twitter account the Swedish player named Hayes in response to a fan asking who his hardest opponent has been.

Celtic fans will of course be interested to see Lustig speak highly of their new recruit as they wonder themselves whether the former Aberdeen man is good enough to step in to an attack which contained stars Scott Sinclair, Moussa Dembele and Manchester City loanee Patrick Roberts last season.

The Hoops announced Hayes as their first recruit of the summer window in a deal believe to be in excess of £1million, while Ryan Christie moved out on loan in the opposite direction.

They have since also added youngster Kundai Benyu, who was announced on Thursday as the Glasgow giants look to emulate last season’s success while also making progress in Europe.
