Rangers are set to table a third bid for Norwich midfielder Graham Dorrans after their second offer failed, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper claim that the Scottish giants made an improved second offer for the 30-year-old of just under £1million last week after previously having a £750,000 bid rejected by the Canaries earlier in the month.

The Scottish Sun report that the fresh offer was also rejected but that has not put off Rangers and they will lodge a third bid, which could be submitted as early as Wednesday.

It is said that manager Pedro Caixinha is “prepared to pull out all the stops” to sign Dorrans as he continues his massive revamp of the Ibrox playing squad.

Norwich are reportedly holding out for more than £1million for the Glasgow-born midfield gem, who has been heavily linked with a move to Ibrox since the season’s end due to his own support for the Light Blues.

Rangers are willing to meet the valuation of the English Championship club for a player who has two years remaining on his contract.

Tthe Daily Record reported earlier in the week that the 11-time Scotland international was Caixinha’s top transfer target of the summer and that the Portuguese boss was in regular contact with Dorrans.

The March appointment has been working overtime in his first transfer window, recruiting five new players without the window even officially opening as he looks to get the team ready for a Europa League campaign next season.

He is still expected to add to his squad further and the reports would signify that Dorrans, who scored six goals in 23 league appearances for Norwich last season is viewed as a necessary addition.

He has a fine record in the Premier League, where he accumulated nearly 200 appearances for established top-flight club West Brom.
