Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan has jokingly revealed that he cannot do another job because he is “useless” at everything else but grateful to be at his current club.

The 25-year-old made a big money move from Championship rivals Brentford in January as Villa manager Steve Bruce aimed to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Thereafter, Villa and Hogan endured a number of difficult matches as they ended up missing out on a top-six spot by 18 points.

Added with that, Hogan suffered a number of injuries which meant that the former non-league player could only score one goal since his move from the Bees.

Despite that, Hogan is clearly grateful to be playing at a club like Villa, whose minimum target next season will be to earn promotion to the top tier.

“From where I have come from to be here now, you know, I cannot do another job because I am useless at everything else,” Hogan told the club’s official YouTube account.

Salford-born Hogan scored 15 Championship goals during the recently concluded campaign, mainly for his previous side, who finished the season three places above Villa.

There will be a lot of pressure on the shoulders of Hogan next season as the supporters will be looking for him to deliver the goods in front of goal.

At this moment in time, he will challenge the likes of Jonathan Kodjia, Gabby Agbonlahor and Ross McCormack for a first-team spot – the latter was sent out on loan in January after falling out with Bruce.
