Rangers have agreed a preliminary deal to sign 20-year-old HJK Helsinki striker Alfredo Morelos, according to Ilta-Sanomat.

The Finnish newspaper claim that the Scottish club have settled the terms of the transfer of the 20-year-old Columbian forward but must wait on a work permit before the move is confirmed.

Were the move to go ahead, it would signal the fifth transfer for the Gers this summer, as boss Pedro Caixinha looks to overhaul his squad ahead of next season.

In his first transfer window at the club, the manager has added Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Dalcio and Fabio Cardoso to his playing staff, and it seems that he is close to making Morelos his latest addition.

The young striker originally joined Finnish side HJK on loan from Columbian side Deportivo Independiente Medellin in February 2016, going on to score an impressive 16 goals in 30 league appearances.

He joined HJK permanently in December 2016, and has gone on to continue his fine goal scoring form, hitting 11 league goals in 12 matches this season

He also shone on the European stage, netting four times in six Europa League appearances during the 2016/17 campaign.

Morelos would join Kenny Miller, Joe Garner and Martyn Waghorn as the striking options, while Caixinha may also call upon young starlet Ryan Hardie, who has returned to the club after a loan spell at Raith Rovers.
