Having experienced a tough second season in charge of West Ham, manager Slaven Bilic will be looking to make some new signings in the summer and one man who he should seriously consider is Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper’s future at St James’ Park looks to be heading to an end this summer as Rafa Benitez is considering other options as his number one next season.

The Dutchman would be a great addition to the West Ham squad mainly because he has vast experience playing in the top flight of English football, which is something that cannot be said for the majority of Bilic’s signings last summer.

Throughout his career, Krul has shown that he has a certain arrogance about him, not appearing to be phased by any occasion and this is what the Hammers lacked especially when playing at home last season.

His personality was there for all to see during the 2014 World Cup quarter-finals when he came on in the last minute and saved two penalties to help the Dutch national team progress to the semi-finals

Last season, the East London side leaked a total of 64 goals in the Premier League and although goalkeepers Darren Randolph and Adrian are not solely to blame for this, Krul’s presence alone would be enough to intimidate the opposition.

West Ham will be aiming to qualify for Europe next season and Krul would be able the ideal man to help them achieve this objective as he was part of the Newcastle United side that reached the Europa League quarter-finals in 2013.

The Dutch goalkeeper could easily become a fan favourite at West Ham as he is a player who wears his heart on his sleeve and he is not afraid to get in the face of the opposition.

He is also out of contract in the summer and with just his wages to pay, would be a bargain signing.
