West Ham have been installed as strong-odds favourites to sign Kelechi Iheanacho from Manchester City, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet priced the Hammers at 1/2 on Tuesday afternoon to complete a deal for striker Iheanacho before the summer transfer window shuts.
The Londoners comfortably lead the betting race ahead of Everton (5/1), Southampton (8/1), Hoffenheim (16/1), Borussia Dortmund and West Brom (both 20/1).
West Ham have already signed one player from City this summer in Argentine right-back Pablo Zabaleta.
The Hammers announced at the end of last month that they had agreed a two-year contract with Zabaleta shortly before his contract was due to expire at Etihad Stadium.
Slaven Bilic’s side have been strongly linked with a summer swoop for Iheanacho this summer, with widespread reports claiming they are ready to spend around £20million to prise him from City.
The forward, 20, has showed immense promise since breaking into the team in the 2015-16 season but he slipped down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola last season and it appears the manager is prepared to sell him in the forthcoming window.
Iheanacho has scored 21 goals in 64 City matches, many of which have come as a substitute, as well as six in nine games for the Nigeria national side.
