Michel Vorm has praised Tottenham duo Josh Onomah and Kyle Walker-Peters on Twitter after they helped England win the under-20 World Cup on Sunday. 

The Spurs academy products started for the Three Lions as they beat Venezuela 1-0, with Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring the only goal of the match.

Onomah played in the middle of the park for Paul Simpson’s side and he dominated throughout showcasing his flair and dribbling ability.

The versatile attacker came close to scoring for his home country when he hit the crossbar from long range after the break.

On the other hand, right-back Walker-Peters was solid in defence as England went on to keep a clean sheet thanks to goalkeeper Freddie Woodman producing a brilliant second half penalty save.

After the match, Tottenham shot-stopper Vorm sent his message of praise to Onomah and Walker-Peters, who have helped England win their biggest international title since the senior side won the World Cup in 1966.

“Congratulations to Kyle Walker-Peters and Josh Onomah,” Vorm wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Well done boys.”

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino gave Onomah a brief run out during the recently concluded season, with the highly-rated youngster playing 12 matches in all competitions for the senior side.

The majority of those encounters were late substitutions but he did start three cup games for his side, scoring during a 5-0 win against Gillingham in the EFL Cup.

By contrast, Walker-Peters is yet to make an appearance for the senior side but after his triumph with the England youngsters, he could be edging closer to that first call-up.
