Tottenham have slapped an eye-watering £200million price tag on talisman Harry Kane amid interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United, according to the Independent.

The newspaper claims that the North London club do not intend to sell the 23-year-old this summer but it is understood that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would only consider negotiating a deal which is close to £200million for the striker.

This story follows up from the report in the Mirror which claimed that United manager Jose Mourinho has told the club to make a £100million move for the Spurs forward this summer.

Tottenham reportedly find it laughable that United value the striker at £100million in this current transfer market.

The report claims that the Portuguese manager favours a move for the England international over Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski as Kane is much younger and he has proven that he can score goals in the Premier League.

The Independent claims the Manchester giants understand that it will be an extremely difficult task to lure Kane to Old Trafford this summer but they remain hopeful a deal could be made should Spurs fail to qualify in the Champions League in the near future.

The English striker was absolutely sensational for Tottenham last season, scoring 35 goals and providing seven assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.

Kane scored his first goal against United last season as Tottenham beat them 2-1 in the final game to be played at White Hart Lane.

The striker’s current contract with the North London club runs out in 2022.
