Tottenham Hotspur will demand a £17.5million transfer fee for Kevin Wimmer amid interest from FC Koln, according to an Express report.

The German newspaper claims Spurs want £17.5million for the player they signed from Koln for £5million just two years ago.

This comes after Bild stated Koln were interested in signing the 6″1 defender this summer, after missing out on him in a January loan swoop.

Meanwhile, Turkish media outlet Ajansspor claimed Galatasaray were eyeing a double swoop for Wimmer and his Spurs teammate Vincent Janssen.

The centre-back struggled to make an impact at Spurs last term, making just 10 appearances in all competitions.

He arrived at White Hart Lane in the summer of 2015 from Koln, but has only played a total of 31 league and cup games.

Wimmer has fallen behind the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Eric Dier in the pecking order, and it seems only a long-term injury would see him handed an extended run in the side.

The 24-year-old had been a mainstay during his spell at Koln between 2012 and 2015, making 73 appearances in all competitions.

He has been capped by Austria on eight occasions, but he has not featured since the 0-0 friendly draw with Slovakia in November of last year.
