Tottenham have deployed their scouts across Europe to watch four right-backs as they prepare for the possible departure of Kyle Walker, according to Sky Sports.

The popular broadcasters have detailed on their website on Wednesday afternoon that Porto’s Ricardo Pereira, Hertha Berlin’s Mitchell Weiser, Atalanta’s Andrea Conti and Torino’s Davide Zappacosta have all specifically been watched by the north London club’s staff ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

It is detailed that Pereira, 23, is one of Mauricio Pochettino’s top targets to replace Walker should he leave and that the Portugal international was tracked by Spurs throughout his two-season loan spell with Nice.

However, it is also detailed in the report that it is claimed he has a £22million release clause in his contract and Pochettino may also be casting his eye at cheaper alternatives.

Both Weiser and Conti are just 23 years of age like Pereira, so it is clear that the Argentine is looking to keep with his young squad ethos, while Zappacosta, 25, could potentially be the least expensive with his contract expiring in two years time.

Each of the four players played frequent roles for their top-flight outfits in the last campaign, but only Pereira and Italian Zappacosta have been capped at senior international level with both Conti and Weiser still awaiting to make their first team debuts for Italy and Germany respectively.

Walker’s boots will certainly prove to be big to fill if he does go given his starring displays across his eight years in north London, but fans will have faith that the club can continue their progression without him.
