Tottenham have been linked with a summer move for Swansea defender Alfie Mawson, and fans on Twitter are all in favour.
The Sun claim that Tottenham have already made preliminary contact with their Premier League rivals over a potential deal for the 23-year-old centre-back.
Pochettino is currently scanning several of Europe’s top leagues for quality reinforcements for his first-team squad, and Mawson has reportedly been identified as one of multiple defensive recruits.
Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen are the current first-choice pairing at the back, but Pochettino wants further cover and could make a £15million move to sign the consistent Swansea performer.
Mawson moved to the Liberty Stadium in a £5.5million deal from Barnsley a year ago, however an impressive run of form in the Premier League last term has seen his valued almost triple.
But while Tottenham fans on Twitter are not completely sold on their latest reported transfer target, they believe he could be a valuable squad option and have backed him to thrive under Pochettino’s guidance.

Not sure £15m would get him, but is young, English, decent on the ball and is still getting better. We've bought worse.

Decent bit of cover for Toby and Jan. Rather him than Smalling! #THFC

Alfie Mawson suits our club profile perfectly. Young, English, someone on the brink of realising their potential. Sign him up! #THFC

The Daily Mail, meanwhile, claim that Tottenham have drawn up a three-man shortlist at centre-back, but the Swansea star does not feature on their list.
The report instead names the out-of-favour Manchester United man Chris Smalling, Burnley’s Michael Keane, and Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson as their top three summer targets.
However, the majority of Tottenham fans on Twitter insist that Mawson poses a much better option than Smalling given his youth and potential.
