Tottenham have reportedly made initial contact with the representatives of Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to a reliable journalist.

Mohamed Bouhafsi, the chief football editor at RMC Sport and BFMTV, took to his personal Twitter account to share the news that Spurs had made contact with the Ivory Coast international.

Seri was previously linked with the club last month after it was revealed that Tottenham, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain were all interested in the midfielder.

The 25-year-old played a key part in Nice’s exceptional season after the club made a surprising challenge for the Ligue 1 title.

The club grabbed a Champions League spot and also finished third in the rankings beneath winners Monaco, and second place Paris Saint-Germain.

The Ivory Coast international displayed an incredibly high level of stamina and endurance during the season, and the fantastic box-to-box player scored seven goals and provided nine assists during his 39 appearances for the club.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will be looking to strengthen and add options to his midfield ahead of the club’s 2017/18 Premier League campaign, as the squad will be aiming to push for the title after missing out on the silverware to Chelsea last season.

In addition to the Premier League, Spurs will also have the Champions League trophy to fight for.
